Hey guys,
Are you using a midi host?
The Tom Cat seems to have a USB device port only. While I could not find a definitive statement to that effect every documentation I found only says “connect to computer” which is IMHO very indicative.
That means you won’t be able to to connect the Tom Cat and the OP-1 directly. You need an USB host like a computer or iConnectMIDI. According to the manual you should be able to set the Tom Cat to sync to an external signal which would allow you to get it to Sync to the OP-1 clock.
Disclaimer: I don’t own a Tom Cat, the above info is based on what I found on the web.

Thanks a lot for this, very helpful. I don’t own a Tom Cat either currently but looking for a cheap drum machine. I have a few other toys that I’d like to sync up with the OP-1 so maybe it’s time to invest in an audio interface.
