I hear ya Gabriel, I’m in the same boat. My workaround is connecting to iPad and using Auria Pro to send midi notes/chords to fill in the gaps of my Piano skills and sequencer limitations on op-1.
I get the whole ‘encourages creativity’ thing, but considering everything the op-1 can do it can be as frustrating as it is amazing at times.
Auxy on the iPad is pretty sweet, it can trigger the op-1 fine and does triplets. Cubasis works ok (bit glitchy on the piano roll for programming beats, was nice controlling the op-1 velocity
Got a Kenton USB midi host in the end and hooked up op-1 to my Korg EMX2. Only had a quick play, but looks like those two are going to be good pals. Korg works well as a sequencer for op-1, plus makes some nice noises itself and has 16 tracks to play with.
Transport functions worked - play on Korg also starts tape on OP-1. And was able to send 5 note chords from Korg to OP-1. Should also be able to send midi from op-1 to EMX2 if I need to.
