broken screen, did i mess it completely up

hey op-1ers,


i went travel and broke my op-1, anyways the thing is, suddenly the screen is just black everyting else seams to be working, at least i can play the keys.
first the colors blurred until the where completely gone.
now i took it apart to maybe order a nw one, but i just removed some black plastic thing that was on the screen connector and i can´t get it back, does anybody now what this is and if it matters if i put this back or not, i thought it is just there to hold the connecting stripe of the screen in place.
i made some pictures and hope somebody can tell me what this plastic thing is.

I think you may have broken off the clip that clips in the ribbon cable. They’re normally hinged. Looking at the zoomed in view of it, it doesn’t look damaged so you can probably fit it back on. Or at least try.


Find a video of one online so you get how it’s meant to work before you put it on though.
