I am a crap musician too, but it's fun! And beats watching the TV for me... :)That!Enjoy!
Every home should have one.
Yay, mine arrived today! Taking the daughter out while it charges (and running her ragged so she’s in bed early to let me play!)
Here’s my first “song”: https://soundcloud.com/jellygeist/what-is-your-major-tape-malfunction
as per friends making fun of the op1’s price. had the same when i first got mine. several of them have bought one since which is hysterical. and most have bought far more expensive gear. 2000 dollar organs and macbooks 8k drum kits, and they critized my feature packed 21stt century instrument! ive always been a tech junky though and my friends never could understand the shit i was into. Oh well. its nice to have friends anyway!

I think he was mostly making fun of me because I have a lot of good equipment and haven’t really been focused enough to produce anything of merit yet. I am a bit scatterbrained and spend-happy : P
Getting that issue where the battery indicator isn’t giving an accurate reading of how much battery power is left.

Hi Jellygeist,
I get that issue too - hopefully it gets fixed in the new OS!
For now, recalibrating the battery by letting the op-1 run completely out of power (until the unit goes blank) then charging op-1 fully will restore accurate battery levels.
Cheers!

yeah getting past this is your induction to the OP1 club
Battery Indicator is haunted
As @skintechnician said, full emptying the bat should recalibrate it properly. Anyway, even if the battery levels are false, the battery life seems to be the same.
Thanks for the tips! Though I read elsewhere on this forum that letting the battery go totally dead isn’t good for it?
Thanks for the tips! Though I read elsewhere on this forum that letting the battery go totally dead isn't good for it?You're welcome! TE explains this in the manual section 11.3. I can only speak from personal experience but letting the op-1 go totally dead then giving it a full charge works perfect on my unit. Not to get off the subject but I also noticed that my op-1 will charge faster when plugged into a computer-powered usb rather than plugging it into a tiny iPhone wall charger.

Ah, I see it right there, thanks! Funny how it would go out of whack within two weeks of getting it but thems the breaks, I guess.
If you like different, electronic drums @Jellygeist ,then Dbox with random lfo directed at it.
Try 2-5 clicks of amount.(Attacky envelope).
Jamming a sequence while turning amount up and down is fun ,for accented fills.
My favorite sequencer for drums…Finger, set to Join
For me I never had any battery problems, besides the meter always being wrong. I have had mine for over three years and the only time I had any battery-related issues was when I decided to let the OP-1 drain to nothing. After that it was “inconsistent” for lack of a better word. It didn’t seem to charge the way I was used to. I would plug it in once in a while and unplug it when the lights stopped blinking, but now it never seemed to stop blinking no matter how long I left it (>24 hours). I reset it a few times and then just ignored the meter and went back to the way I was using it and now it seems “normal” (to me) again. I can plug it in and it will charge for a normal amount of time and the meter will stop blinking when done.
Good old weird battery stuff, eh? The manual says that draining it totally if only for a bit won’t hurt it so I’ll try that when I get around to it. A little too busy these next few days to put in a good session.
I’m pissed. I got a 1st-gen OP-1, before they added a trigger. I hate that shit.

I pulled the trigger and all that happened was a little flag came out of the speaker that said BANG on it
