Got the voice sample from a commercial on the radio. I think the track turned out kind of interesting. If anything I drug it on a bit too long with not much variation.
I’ve never really done any electronic/synth work. Been a long time guitarist but always wanted to get a synth. Thought the OP-1 would be a great place to start because its portable and looked pretty cool. Definitely money well spent.
Let me know what you guys think of this track. What is something that could have been better? What was the best quality of it? Just wanting some good critiques so I can keep improving.
Thanks for listening!
Not bad for the second track. The use of the sample is ok. I like the refrain the most, you just need to do more variations, a break, another melody some noise sounds etc to make the track more interesting.
great.

Thanks guys.
Mix, some great tips. I still have this one on my OP-1. Had a long week at work so haven’t gotten a chance to delete it. lol. Anyway, I really like it and have some ideas on how I could improve so I may just try to add some more stuff into this one and see how it turns out.
Thanks again.
Just for an idea of how far I’ve progressed, here is my first track.
I had a really really cool one going awhile back using the synth that sounds like wind. All I wanted to add was a few really crushing thunder samples in but recorded over my main track and then got aggravated and deleted it all. haha…
Oh well. Just gave me a reason to use the OP-1 even longer that night.
I like the bass synth quite a bit. What engine is that? Sounds like Dr. Wave but my ear is tin sometimes

The bass line is the Phase synth on the Pure preset. I think I may have tweaked it a tiny bit but not much, and didn’t use any effects on that track.
It started nice, but then the synth saturated my ears. Maybe you could dirty the sound a bit to take the edge off.
I’m not a musician, I think you guessed

On my first track? (the second one in this post)
I know, I feel the same way about that one. Every time I listen to it I about crap my pants when the synth starts. I was quite drunk when I decided it sounded good. haha
