OP-1 for a beginner?

wailing, @Erhenius, you mean wailing

Unless, of course, you hurl toothpicks at your OP-1 like little harpoons. Then by all means whale away!

Oh English, you so cray cray.

@KrisM LOL yeah… obviously english is not my first language. Even though I speak it well, I just crap out when it comes to spelling. Usually spell check does the job but some words just slip on past without me noticing how stupid it actually is.

Hi everyone,
First post…
My OP-1 arrives in two days!!

I was looking for something to travel with and almost got a Volca and miniKP…just to play around with…

But after seeing this video (and his other guitar/OP-1 videos):
http://youtu.be/m9jGMZIG7wo
…the whole notion of the sampler made me realize that there’s a lot of Octatrackness that could be hidden inside the OP-1.
I do a lot of my music on and with a reel-to-reel (tape loops, sample preparation, etc…) so the Tape Recorder is pretty natural…just thinking about all the layered samples being moved between Tape Recorder, Drum Sampler, and my Teac 4300…schweeet!!!

They do cost a TON…but I think it’ll be worth it.

I like whaling better is sounds massive!

You are all wonderful people. Ordered my OP-1 earlier today; with Amazon Prime shipping I should be playing by tomorrow. Excited to dive in.

@dimi3, well… it is white… Capt. Erhab and Ohpeedick

@youenjoyphish You will not regret it.

…I should become TE Sales rep :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, as Brad Delp says:

"It's more than a feeling".

Sometimes you will not use it for a few days, or a week.... Then, once you feel the weight of it in your hand again, all the reasons you're thrilled to have it come flooding back in.

As I said, it's like purchasing a museum piece.

And no one ever regrets buying art.
