Upon the release of the POs, the price of the OP-1 raised.

Does anybody remember the former price?

iirc it was 800-ish

Also wondering why this has occured, usually it’s the opposite…?

The MAP (minimum advertised price), in the US at least, has always been $849.

@SLOTH in the same time the Euro totally dropped down so this rise of prices (Elektron as well) is understandable.

really? i could’ve sworn it was <$800 at some point. almost believe it was <$700 at original release

i can remember 769€ in germany. and there was a backtoschool or blackfriday-deal for 649€. i think it was 2013.

Lowest I saw was 600+ on massdrop.

With QE in most of 2015, total €1.1 trillion, you’d expect the Euro to go down in value, and things like the OP1 to go up to their current price… There were some distributor discounts at some point, that’s all. In my view it’s massively overpriced.
