Op-1 Radio can't be tuned

Hi Guys,

Got my OP-1 just yesterday and I’m loving this little device! I noticed that I am unable to tune the radio in any way. All it does is produce static noise. However, when I pug in a cable to the line in, the radio works fine. So… is this the only way to get the FM radio to work or is it possible to tune it without having to plug something to the line-in? Thanks.

Yes this works as an aerial. Try headphones in line our aswell maybe.

Hi what’s aerial? Thanks for the reply though I always thought with the technology we can just tune the built in radio on it’s own.

This article talks about it:

Also, maybe the OP-1 aluminum body acts as a shield, so it can’t have an integrated antenna.

WOW! That was incredibly insightful. Thanks!

Oh my gosh, thank you for that wacky workaround!

I inserted a pair of cheap 3.5mm earbuds and suddenly caught Seven Nation Army on the radio.

Strangely, the audio still comes through the speaker not the headphones. But at least it kinda works now!
