Did a quick instagram video over lunch. I was a bit wary of taking out a £700 piece of gear + overpriced iPhone out on a fairly busy street but I quickly realised that people don't give a damn :-)
love it… i wish my head was wired as yours… i use op in a completely different way… i guess will never use its full potential
Thanks man! I listened to your video and I think that if “Le Grand Bleu” had a reboot this would be the soundtrack for it. Brilliant stuff. I so wish I had the patience to do proper tracks like yours as well.

Thank you.
I had to google Le Grand Bleu… I’ve seen it many moons ago… great film.
It’s not a proper track, just a few musical ideas. But i’m planning to make a proper track… with vocals etc.
How do you prepare your samples mate, if gathered from different sources? i.e. key and tempo. these sound great!
I rarely do a ton of organization beforehand. I will warp things to tempo and pitch in Ableton I’d I know I’ll be working at a certain tempo or key before sending them to the Op-1, but that is a rare occurrence. These particular samples were leftover from a remix jam centered around Peter Gabriel’s “Curtains”. Had them on the Op-1 and decided to repurpose them!

(Also did you ask somewhere here about the multiple-octave arp trick? I had an answer for you but I thought it was too late >.<)
Yeah, haha, I found out about all the tricks I needed after I made the video. The arp seems to support multiple octaves, and the finger sequencer would have also worked for what I was trying to do. I need to read the manual more, I guess!
