OP-1 VIDEOS

BTW, huge shoutout to @orat for their excellent sample packs. I used a bunch of them in this video. And whoever uploaded those classic breaks drum kit packs. Those are insanely good.

So impressed and influenced by these many fine videos. Gonna try to make more, for the op alone and with other gear. Gotta figure out lighting and tripod. @jjbbllkk your videos are so clean and fresh looking. Others too. MAD props. Anywhoo just picked up an op-1 for a second time and am starting to figure stuff out, except avoiding pops. This is where i’m at so far:

Good work, always nice to hear this style/vibe on the op-1

If you’re fond of TE products, Operator One forum is the place to be.
Actually I more often read posts than play on my OP-1 and Pocket Operators (three of them are still packaged !).
As I take a lot of pleasure listening all your contributions, I’ve humbly decided to leave mine onto this forum.
This music video “Øbaï” (Ø - alt+0216 - supposed to be a 0 but making it hard to find…) has been posted last summer and started from a cool sound sample found on the web.

Oups…a copy / paste poorly controlled …

Nice one @flybry. Those retriggered hihat samples are awesome!

Nice track @Blendroid .
If you like ANY musictech gear this is the forum (in my limited XP. Better than the crazy Korg forum by miles - though the latter has been tickling me recently with some far out nutters not meaning to be funny . recent news posts have been far out.- I digress).
Great info and advice hear. Most direct and educational heads ,not to mention the talent (!)

Agreed @heatseekerrr ,that @flybry vid has been real standout. Love that rap -the way you mixed it.
That’s a lovely musical rap. I’ve grown away from hip hop because vocals too negative/not very good for me anymore ,but that was running through my mind for days. One I wanna play to my 9 year old. Not too sure what his mum would think about the cooking crack references - but way better than so much modern or pop stuff …
Was it UK or US that vocal?

Thanks y’all! @spheric_el - The vocal is Migos - Bad and Boujee. It’s a hit in the US currently. I did edit the vocals but kept the ‘crockpot’ and other stuff so it would’nt be completely empty hahhaa!

Nice.

I’m unsure if you’re serious… It’s jjbbllkk on here isn’t it? He’s great in fairness…

Did this with my awesome next door neighbour last night.

While my partner was in the hospital for a minor procedure I took the OP-1 out onto one of the hospital’s patio sections and did a 5 pass ambient track. 4 tracks recorded on the fly (no practicing), and then a 5th track recorded directly into the DSLR with everything not the solo track panned to one side. Flubbed the chord changes here and there, but got what I wanted out of it. Want to do more like this.
