OP–XY: How Flexible Is the Mixing Workflow?

Hi all,

I’m currently looking into the OP–XY and wondering how flexible it is for mixing individual tracks. I know level and pan per track are possible, but I’m particularly interested in whether it supports EQing each track separately — either internally or via external gear.

Ideally, I’d like to connect the OP–XY via USB to a mixer and route each track to its own channel strip, so I can handle EQ, levels, and FX sends externally. I’ve seen mention of a 12-channel USB mode, but I’m not sure if that means I can send each track to a separate channel on a USB mixer — or if that would require a computer in between.

Has anyone set up a workflow like this? Or found good ways to EQ individual tracks, either on the device or through routing?

Appreciate any insights — this would really help me decide whether to go for it!

It’s a very basic mixing workflow, no per track EQ just volume, pan, and the two effects sends. EQ and compression is global, and there’s no way to stream the individual tracks out of the device currently.

There’s a high pass filter available on every track as well.

I believe this only applies to inputs. For example, if I connect a TX-6 to my XY, I can choose any ONE of the 6 stereo pairs or 12 mono inputs (not multiple).

You can only hear the XY’s main outputs over USB, unfortunately.
