OP-Z bass track ussue

I’m getting some weird sound issues lately with the bass track on my OP-Z. If the bass is panned to the middle, and I have a fast attack speed, the bass cuts out on attck and takes all other sounds with it. If I pan it to one side or the other, everything sounds fine. But panned in the middle, it makes a loud punchy sound and then cuts out before hitting the sustain. I’ve tried resetting it to factory settings, and it’s still happening.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Is your master compressor turned up?

Is that Mixer + Yellow? Looks like it was turned up pretty far, yeah. I’m new to production, what exactly is that guy doing?

yeah, mixer and yellow is right.
I don’t think I can explain it as well as other people: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSKn18oSy68&t=673s
This video does a good job at explaining.

Very helpful! Especially as an introduction to compression in general.

But I’m still not exactly sure what the “Punch” dial is doing on the OP-Z itself. Is it effecting the Threshold, or is it doing something more complex?

I am wondering about that too…maybe it’s a combination of 2 things.
I think one of them is release time…but at the same time I have no clue
