@xpelled
nice one! tried to record some guitar riffs to the po33 once, but it's really difficult without 3 hands ;)
i made something with only op-1 samples today

a really neat video! it’s in my liked videos playlist now

we tried to capture a bit of sampling process this weekend, so the new video is a bit more traditional in terms of content

tried to change filter and pitch as much as possible in this one. all samples recorded via internal microphone:

sampled some percussion and made a quick beat out of it.

hi folks,

this time my KO teamed up with the TONIC.

this Sunday i went into hip hop beat making and conventional jam video format with my hands and all that

all these video are inspiring.

@xpelled how do you like your Zoom H1? Is this what you mainly use it for? does it drain batteries?

i use it a lot actually. in the first part of that video all sounds are recorded on the H1 using its microphones (cause it sounds more natural compared to po-33 monitoring output) and during the jam po-33 is plugged into the H1 line in to get decent sound, while H1 line out is connected to the speaker so i could hear what i’m doing and be able to sync sound with the video in post.

i also take it with me sometimes to record ambient sounds and samples (this track is entirely made of sounds recorded with H1 and later played back into my op-1, no daw involved). not to mention i backup and restore my tonic and K.O! via the H1, especially on the go.

as for the battery life - it is pretty decent to my taste, H1 live long enough for a couple full live shows and carrying a spare battery isn’t really of a big deal.

the only downside for me is H1 being two channel, which means can either record via line in or its microphones, not both. so i plan to get an H5 (or an H2n worst case) once i come across a decently priced second hand unit.
I also bought an electromagnetic pickup for it, which is nice for recording strange EM sounds :D

thanks for sharing the link! i think i’ll get a mic like that cause i discovered that sampling something for a decent kick drum using po-33 built in mic is kind of a pain

Ahh, I didn’t even think of using it with the PO-33!

Keep in mind that being an EM pickup, it doesn’t actually record audio, but instead electromagnetic energy. Having said that though, anything metallic will make some kind of sound if you put it close enough to the pickup and strike it.

You can probably get piezoelectric contact mics with similar suction cup attachments though…

i know i’m a bit late, but still: happy St. Patrick’s day!

Hope you enjoy :)

i sampled a jazz session and made a hiphop beat out of it + added a delay pedal for some atmosphere.
