Which is the best way to midi-connect these bad boys? Seen a few threads on the forum about the topic but never got a clear view on what to choose.
Midi host like the Kenton, or via a computer over USB. So, if you’re at a desk with a computer, that’s the easy option. The Kenton is stand alone, but requires power, goes for about $140.

Thank you for your answer! With computer, do you hook it up via for example Logic or with any other program? Cheers
I use Ableton Live. Logic will work just fine, but I don’t have personal experience doing it outside of Ableton.

There’s a free Mac OSX utility program called Midi Patchbay. Can simply connect your midi ins and outs. No need to use a DAW.
However if its clock you are after i personally don’t bother. It’s far simpler to adjust the bpm on OP1 manually and just press play in time.
Retrokits released the RK-005 UBS-MIDI host several months back and it works great.
Indeed! Glad they did this one!
Connections are simpler now with the RK-005, but configurations and control of OP-1 with Digitakt is still frustrating. I haven’t had much success with MIDI or CC doing anything exciting on the Digitakt.
