The NAMM Thread (22-25 January 2015)

Watching that sonic state video I think the Po’s are amazing and mine will most likely get more use than my op-1. op1 for final processing of Po-# ofcourse!

i hate when they don't do it right.. was really happy because of the MX1 but not having a class compliant USB Host ????

Fuck you, and go die somewhere buried with your abomination. [2]

Same here. I was having high hopes for a product like that.

heh… yeah. the MX1 was sort of…

nsiywttmm

…someone has to do ONE case for alle three units in a row -> PO-Grovebox!

$99 for the Korg SQ-1 which looks really tasty:

Kilpatrick Audio- PHENOL synth
this might be my first foray into the world of patchable sound design.

Synthrotek is supposedly announcing a full eurorack voice, in kit and preassembled, and even bare PCBs. Real curious on that one.

Elektron: We Make Hardware Because Making Music Should Be Fun: As Long As It’s Attached To A Computer

sorry couldn’t help myself!

that PHENOL synth looks the bidness

Phenol and Vermona mono synth are the highlights from Namm IMO.

I liked the SQ-1 from Korg and the ms20 rack.

The new mix from Keith McMillen

Some awesome modular pieces… TipTop Cicadicrhytm, and an circle sequencer protoype from lzx.

Koma had a crazy quadraphonic sound system… hardhat with four speakers… a total duct tape and dowels project.

iconnectivity’s audio +4 will be out in less then 10 weeks…

I am not guitar guy but I liked the variax and some of the amps from Line6.

Roland has potential if the kill their Industrial design team…(sorry) The one above has a big brother which seems like it should be pretty beefy.

the arpodessy was nice but the keys are make it so toy like.

the dave smith prophet 6 is nice too expensive for me.

I am a pre order for a phenol and I played with it and it is very cool.

@dimi: i´ve preordered the phenol too. can you tell something from your short experience with it? the osc´s sounds fat, whats your opinion about them…how about the delay…the look and feel and and and…really excited about it!

@mec1 What I understood from Dataline, is that Overbridge allows Elektron hardware to be somewhat of an interface, integrating the DAW and analog world in some respects. Is that close?

@dimi3 damnit, I missed so much from what you saw! Bur I was only there a half a day. Did you take pics of your list? ^

I’m really interested in the K-mix, but I didn’t spend much time at their booth. What do you gather?

Holy smokes! Just peeped the specs on the K-Mix for the first time. 8inputs and 8 outputs, plus awesome touch controls. Works standalone (form what I can tell). Man, this should be every electronic musicians next interface. I guess it depends how it performs, going to be following this closely, always wanted to get more I/O back into my studio.

^now that Elecktrons units act as audio interfaces im more inclined to get that.

I dropped by iConnectivity to look at the iConnectAUDIO.

http://www.iconnectivity.com/iConnectAUDIO4plus
$299 - 6-8 weeks (heard that before!!)

What I didn’t realise was that it does everything the iConnectMIDI4+ does as well as an audio interface, so it has a USB host port for OP-1’s etc.

That really could simplify things.

K-mix does look nice though.

@sparky haha ya 6-8 weeks… I feel like it was announced about 2 years ago. If they had delivered, iConnectivtiy would’ve been in the strong lead.
