Much on the appeal of the OPZ odd the ability to interact with other tools. Often, we straight up use our cute little device to drive the majority of the experience! So, since I don’t have a euro rack and have wanted to explore the space more, I’ve gotten more in to VCV Rack.
Turns out, the OPZ plays quite nicely! Gates function well with the arpeggio track, plus, we get a full 16 tracks of sequencing instead of the limited OP lab! Has anybody been digging in to this? There are a couple of concepts I’ve been wanting to try:
Sampling IN from the rack while sequencing it, then allowing for either chopping my sample, or grabbing good bits to loop/effect and push through something like the Mutable Clouds sampler.
Using something like the Lights channel to sequence tracks that don’t output audio. This way I get the midi out to a VCO in Rack, but don’t have sound.
Pushing other iPad app’s midi THROUGH the OPZ, as almost a central midi hub
