1.5.6 for the OP-1F is out

Then apologize for making noise. I was wrong. The per tape mixer settings are still there and works as before.

  • option for selecting input channel(s) on usb audio

How does this work/what does it do?

When you connect an audio interface with more than one stereo output to the OP-1 field, you can select from which output you want to record.

It works like a dream. This new firmware is fantastic. These guys just keep making the best even better, closer and closer to a truly perfect mobile studio and DAW.

@djcuvcuv , now I can record directly from my amplifier - no medium needed, no analog. - usb to usb

AND I can choose the input

I made the right decision getting this thing

wow cool how do you record directly from your amp? does your amp have an output?

i usually do:

  • one signal from guitar directly into my op1f
  • or one signal from my cm15 directly into op1f
  • or both at the same time via tx6

My amp has USB audio out. (Axe Fx3) it doubles as an interface as well and it has 4 stereo in/out

So now I can also select which channels to send!

Are you sure you just aren’t showing off your field gear???hmm?? Lmao j/k

If I had the loot for all that stuff I would go so hard for your setup. I love it.

I Absolutely admire your entire approach to this lovely world of music; and seeing how you use your guitar with the field is very inspiring man
It’s so cool what you do man . I didn’t think I would fin another guitarist out there so it’s so awesome to not only have found a very talented and prolific artist your also a field user + guitarist

So you don’t mind the dry signal? Do you do any modeling/processing at all? Ever ? Or do you just stick to manipulation of the field system?

lol i should def recognize that just dropping the whole field series in that description was a bit much haha.

well shucks that’s awfully nice of you to say. i very much appreciate the kind words. i didn’t expect to like the field series as much as i do.

for a long time i was a purist that didn’t want any distractions from playing guitar, but i got a taste of the op1f and og, and i realized i was missing out could blend the two, and produce more music.

so here i am a few years later with the title series lol. not fiscally responsible AT ALL.

i have guitar pedals that add delay and reverb going through my amp, which the cm15 always picks up despite it being placed very near my guitar and away from the amp.

i also put the ob4 right up to the back of my cm15 with ambient mode on so i get some of that too. the tx6 has quite high input impedance so i’ve no issue plugging guitar straight in, and adding some filtration, panning, eq, rvb, distortion on the tx6 itself

Edit / I was asking in regards to the tx6 and cm15 but I think I understood now

Your making me want the tx6 more than the ob4 but I have a feeling if I get another music gear, or should say, my next would be the ob4 so I can play the field anywhere

We’re on the same journey lol… Love the field series as a supplement to playing guitar and writing in a really organic feeling workflow! The longer I have it the more it becomes a way to take whatever I’m working on with me and build music as the inspiration strikes. Been meaning to start using the cm15 right with my amps - just record in the morning and then take it on the tp7 to listen / maybe work on with op1f out and about

I’ve been recording videos with my iphone plugged into usb-c while still monitoring over headphones on the Field. Zero setup. JUST WORKS!
