Do you use Ableton Live?
Haven’t used the Beatstep for ages but I was using it with AbletonLive and that’s where the clock was coming from then I was routing the midi to the OP-1 via live.
I’ve got a DAW been trying to keep computers out of the mix ever since getting the OP-1. I’m more productive without the internet at my fingertips…
I could use the OP-Lap as a clock source, but that’s less ideal. I think I can force the beatstep to listen to notes on a separate channel with it’s config software. That might hack it into working.
If you are willing to add an iPad or iPhone into the mix there is an app called MidiBridge that will let you filter out note messages to and from gear.
