Anyone else make progress with the unity videolab package yet?

In my opinion the visual aspect of OP-Z (including Photomatic) must be boosted with support by TE in the near future. Currently these features are not so user friendly and there have been only a few trials with animations for now and most of them are based on stock stuffs only. So these features are there we just have to wait till TE makes them complete

@Najrock awesome tutorial! Here’s my latest demo: https://www.instagram.com/p/BqOV3O_hWMA/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

Thanks for the great tutorial @Najrock ! I’ve exported my cube videopak but when I try to add to the app via iTunes the app subfolders aren’t showing in the file sharing window. The app is there but when I click on it nothing appears. Does anyone know why that might be?

Hey Ali, apologies for the late reply I was off playing some gigs. If you are still having problems try reinstalling and make sure to check the options to bundle for IOS and Mac OS… that is the most likely culprit… you are creating folders but not actually bundling your videopak. Cheers!

Sequencing other hardware and lots of unity work.
As the vid description states — i’m tryign to create a scene that feels alive, and connected to the music, without being overly obvious with everything jumping around to the beat (although I like that stuff too!) Here we have wind, mist, colored sky, leaves, lighting etc, influenced by the sequencer. the sun drives the scene behaviors, and is ‘performed’ via the opz dials.

@Polyoptics That’s brilliant! The video and music together is really impressive.

Hello everyone,
New user here.
I have been trying to run this yesterday and have the OPZ app crashing when I try to launch my videopak.
I am using Unity 5.5.x with Videolab plugin 1.0 for unity, on PC.

I have just done the rotating cube project. I have used Unity before for game dev so I think I understand what I am doing.
I build the videopak from Unity, export it to my ipad mini 2 via Itunes.
When I launch the OPZ app, i can see my newly created videopak icon, but when I launch it, the app just quits.

Anyone has had a similar problem before?

Thanks!

I got the cube to work in the app, then I made something more elaborate, works beautifully on my mac, but yeah, in the app it quits on me. I’m gonna try updating my phone, maybe try making something smaller. I REALLY wish there was more information available, particularly about allowable file sizes.

I found out that if it crashes, then when you try to do motion in the app it tries to load your project again and so crash again. I had to reinstall the app to make it clean again.

yeah I’m experiencing that too. Did you get the cube to work? @ludotex

Yes i got it to work. I resintalled unity because I had an old version where I did android stuff and I was afraid there was conflicts.
Make sure you download the latest 5.6 version of unity (not 2018) with the MacOS and IOS boxes ticked, and use the 1.0Videolab package. (info is here: https://github.com/teenageengineering/videolab/wiki/Exporting-for-OP‐Z)

First test

Looking real good, my man. Some pretty complex stuff going on there. What happens when you start to “hit the roof”? Is it choppy or does it just not load?

long shot here, is there any way to get rid of that black bar with the videopak name? I want to do projection and I’ll probably have to block it with a piece or tape of something…

Got some framerate drops, and also some midi stuff not regeistering. Like a kick not reacting anymore. Also I dont know if its the bluetooth midi or the app, but I got the OPZ to actually starting to freak and go totally off tempo in weird ways.

Does anyone have any good resources for understanding Klak nodes? @Najrock tutorial was excellent, TY, and ive been going thru Keijiro’s videolab tests but I cant seem to find any in depth info on the Nodes in Klak. More specific, how do add the kino assets to my scenes?

No luck yet with absolute newb unity scenes, or Keijiro’s videolab tests? I’m not sure I’m placing the correct files into iTunes file share, when I use app I see scene names but all are just blank screens.
What files are copied to iTunes file share after creating videopack in unity?
Thanks
Amazing stuff can’t wait

Anyone check out Andy’s video on animation in videolab? Some useful tips here
