Hey, does anybody know a good way of cutting down a sample when it’s in the sampler? I understand that you can set the locators to only play a certain part of the sample in there, but I want the un-needed part gone. With the sample I’m using, I can’t record it to tape and paste it into a sampler, as it’s a very tiny sample (probably less than 1 ms).
Sample length is rigid, 6 secs. No truncate/crop option. Just start and end points. I only recently grabbed op-1 and this is still something I don’t really understand, such a waste of memory!? Must make sense somehow under the hood with the OS I guess.
Only way I could think of would be to copy the sample twice and set the end point of the first to the start of the area to be chopped, then the second to set the start point to the end of the chop.
Then record them in separately i.e. with a decent space in between, then lift and drop to realign and finally resample from tape to sampler.
Phew, that was long but even without keeping it all internal to the sampler page I can’t think of a simpler way, and at the very least you end up with the chop back in your sampler so you can still have the same manipulation functions.
