Anyone use a 3.5 mm condenser mic with their OP-1's input jack? Or a Tascam? Live audio tips-

I have plugged my headphone out jack from my scarlett into the OP-1 and recorded some guitar sounds and it went well. However, I would like to do something similar but not be tied to the audio interface. Anyone have any ideas? I have seen some people use a Tascam in youtube video’s but no one ever mentions them in the comments.

To use a condenser mic it should work fine to use any phantom powered audio interface / amp and put the headphone out into the op-1… Should work fine or I don’t understand your question.

That’s the way I do it.

I don’t want to be tied to the computer. I thought of using the Shure condenser mic connected to my iPhone and the audio connected to the op line in. I just wanted some opinions on hardware and workarounds.

I use my Zoom H2n – headphone out to mic in on the OP-1. I guess many portable recorders will have phones out for monitoring purposes.

I use an Art Tube MP (w/ upgraded tube) with a 1/4-1/8" cable and it works great. Have also used the mics on my Tascam DR-07 using its line out when jamming outside.

Sony PCM-M10 here. Love that thing. 5 years of faithful service, looks beat up but still working fine. Idle battery life is counted in months.

My Sony ECM-MS907 works fine

Haven’t made the comparison with the internal mic, though

Edit: I am comparing them and the external mic, when used with the original minidisc is way better than the one included on the OP-1
Since all of them run on batteries, it is a godsend if you want to sample outdoors!
