Artists With OP-1

Pretty obvious that Empty Pool from Cibo Matto’s Hotel Valentine uses the OP-1, can anyone confirm if they use it on the rest of the tracks from this album?

Panda bear using OP in this AC live vid. OT + OP is pretty incredible/inspiring small footprint setup.. Only thing missing for me with that combo is polyphonic sample with timestrech.. Main reason I've held on to my microsmapler.

Hey dude. I have the microSAMPLER, can you elaborate on this usage? Just wanna make sure I’m not missing a cool feature.

Yeah no worries. On OP1 if you sample a sound/pattern and then play it chromatically the sample will change in length, shorter/longer depending on the key. On Microsampler you can set a sample to timestrech so you can play it anywhere in pitch and the length stays the same. So you can ‘play’ rhythms/samples chromatically and polyphonically while still sticking to your bpm with rhythmic stuff. And sampled instruments will have same length notes. Sometimes it’s cool to not activate this and you get the random sample length stuff overlapping like on OP1. But often it’s pretty useful…

The Drones/// great band from Australia. From what I’ve read, the op1 figured pretty heavily into the writing of their most recent album.

Liima (Efterklang) use one live.

Not sure if this is the right thread but heads up to all operators in Japan

Every track by Sylvan Esso seems to have the OP-1, at least to my ears:

If you watch the Tiny Concerts on NPR video of Sylvan Esso, you’ll see her partner is using an OP-1!

guess it’s worth mentioning that an op-1 can be seen in almost any live footage of The National these days

Nice choon

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I couldn’t find a dedicated one for the PO-12

The thing is, I just heard Madonna’s Killers who are Partying, and I could swear the drum machine is that one, ain’t it?

I cant see the links. Would you mind reposting them?

Maybe the Spotify links are blocked? Here is the link for the same song on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jh9aFGP_Nx8

Answering my own post, the kit they use is Daily Blip included on firmware 14203. They (Sean Lennon?) use it here: https://youtu.be/9_TbZa0e-Dk

EDIT: Now I mention the correct drumkit

Finneas (Billie Eilish’s brother and producer) has one

Yesterday I saw a movie, Rat film, and at the beginning of the movie, there is an OP1 for a few seconds.
Here is a quick soundtrack ‘making of’ by Dan Deacon, you can see the OP1 from 1:27
