I need help understanding the audio routing.
I’m trying to route one instrument track to the Multi-out jack only, meaning that I want to hear it on the Multi-out jack but not on the internal speaker or main Audio Out jack.
This is what I tried:
In the Aux track 5 M2 page I’ve turned one instrument track mixer to 99, all the others are zero.
In the Aux track 5 M1 page I’ve turned the mix (last knob on the right) to zero. (I think this sets the level of Aux track 5 audio that is sent to the Main mixer)
When I play the track, I hear music coming from the Multi-out jack, and not the internal speaker. And when I increase the mix from zero to 99 (Aux track 5 M1 page, last knob) I start to hear sound on the internal speaker.
So far, so good.
Confusion 1:
If I select the Mixer for all the instrument tracks (Mixer button, right next to the Scene select button) and turn the level down for the instrument track that is routed to the Multi-out jack, the sound gets softer at the Multi-out jack. I don’t understand why the main mixer output level is affecting what I have routed to the Multi-out jack.
Confusion 2:
Now back to the Aux track 5 M2 page. When I start decreasing the mix from 99 back to zero the sound starts to fade from the Multi-out jack and I start hearing it coming from the internal speaker. When I get the mix to zero, I only hear it coming from the internal speaker. I don’t understand why decreasing the mix into the Aux track 5 would affect the level of the Main mix.
Thanks for any help in understanding this.
