Audition drum sample sound before writing to the finger monkey sequencer?

Is there a way to “hear”/audition the drum sample before you write it to the finger sequencer

If the sequencer is engaged the only way to hear the drum note is to press the key while writing to the grid

Is there a way to just hear the sample/sound before committing it to the sequencer and writing over any other data?

not that i am aware of. i usually hold shift to add the sound and if i dont like it i erase and re do etc

For sure ; the only problem with that is if you’re layering two hits in one grid you erase both pre existing and new sound (then you gotta remember the first sample and the new one lol)

u wanna lift your sequence before u start editing / mucking around
then whenever u wanna go back
drop it down again

much easier than erasing

also sometimes i just turn the seq off real quick
get my bearings
then go back in
