I’m looking forward to that! Once I saw this performance I had it on loop for a few days. Downloaded the song and your album from 2011 and I’ve really enjoyed all of it. But “Nemehlo” is especially fun to listen to.
@karbonckel - what stand you using for your tenori-on?

@jshell Thanks! New Album will be released 10th of February. Download version for free:) Cheers!

It’s actually an iPad stand called ‘Compass stand’
I haven’t seen the microgranny before. Seems like a nice piece of gear. How do you users like it?

I’ve owned and sold a MicroGranny.
Did you guys catch this post on Bastl’s FB? Looks sweet!

I’ve only had mine for a couple of weeks but I really like it. I don’t mind that it’s monophonic. I find that it helps, actually. I think of it less as a sampler like a Volca Sample or even the Op-1, and more as a dynamic looper. A really cool feature is that if it’s getting Midi clock (I’ve only tried this with the Bastl Trinity Drum attached but may soon try with my MPC500), the grain sizes are in proportion to the beat. It then becomes really easy to have grains or sample parts jumping around in time with the rhythm. I haven’t tried its other MIDI functionality as I’m not a big user, but I believe it supports both playing a single sample at different pitches based on incoming notes, or different samples. It being monophonic makes it easy to play cut-up style by rapidly switching to different sounds with a touch of the button. With some trickery and cleverness you could probably do a whole performance with one but it does work best with other gear. I’ve been having a lot of fun with the Trinity Drum and Microgranny together and look forward to getting some more Trinity modules in the future.
Thanks for your answers. @jshell nice vid, you got a couple of pedals =) think I’m gonna switch out a couple of mine. I’ve only recently got into synths, mostly played guitar before. So I’ve been looking for some effects for synths lately. What does the standuino 3~2 do?
The microgranny 2 seems nice. I quite like looping stuff. But 150€ at the moment seems a bit much at the moment. Looked at the standiuno/microgranny but it seems a bit lacking in features. But I do like it because it comes in a diy kit. Any other tips on similar things or should I keep an eye out for a used MG2?
@Defectus The Standuino 3π2 a weird little random sound generator. You program it by selecting a sound for all combinations of the lights (selected by the white chicklet keys). The sound selection involves hitting some randomizers and then using the knobs to tweak the sound. When its sequencer mode is turned on, the white buttons that have an alligator clip attached (up to two of them) will play in a sequence. Here’s a video of it with a MicroGranny and Trinity Drum that sounds much better than mine (I’m still fumbling my way around these instruments).
