The title says it all, i think - it doesnt seem possible to apply trigger sparks to sequenced stuff in those tracks and i was wondering if there was a clever/crafty/blindingly obvious way of doing it that i’ve missed.

Unfortunately not really, as shift is used for selecting tracks that will be linked to these. But one workaround that comes to mind is to arm these tracks for external trigger (press track + shift + 0) and then on a different active track set a step component to send a trigger (jump + 0), this will advance the armed tracks by one step whenever this step component is triggered… now on that very step you can also set trigger spark and component spark, so can indirectly control the tape and master tracks.

Another thing you can try is to link these to other tracks (5.10 in the manual) but not sure how step components are handled in this case.
