Can't copy track

So this is weird. I’m trying to recreate Steve Reich’s Clapping Music with the OP-Z.

So I set the step count for the snare track and sample track to 12 with a step count of 2.

Then I enter the pattern into the snare track, but it fails to copy to the (Perc) track. My steps are:

  1. (Track)+{Snare)

  2. Hold [P] press (Shift) 3 times

  3. Still hold down [P] and press (Perc)

The steps all light up white, but the track isn’t copied.

What could be going on? I’m trying to follow the directions at

hey reading this and i get the confusion but that function isn’t meant for copying say kick sequence over to snare. what it does is it copies the active track (say kick) to the kick track in a different pattern.

for example, you are in project 1 and you have a kick track you like on pattern 4. you can copy this kick now to other kick tracks in other patterns, say pattern 5 or pattern 7 such that now those patterns (which may have had some other kick sequence prior) will now have the kick sequence you just copied.
