This is more of a deal breaker for me as i’m into Ambient with Drones. The click starts at the loop point on my OP-1 with Drone samples.imported to Snapshots. Ive tried 2 bar 4 bar 8 bar. It makes no difference.
This is a common issue with the OP-1. Updating to the leaked beta OS that’s floating around reduces clicks considerably or even totally eliminates them.
Thanks Jellygeist the Beta seems to have fixed it. thats a relief. But now i have a new problem…
Thanks Jellygeist the Beta seems to have fixed it. thats a relief. But now i have a new problem....Q1: The crossfades leave a small gap between the segments. So instead of one continous loop with NO break i get a moment of fade in and out which is not what i want. (if im missing something please say as its new to me).Q2; And ive read that the Beta fixes the rainbow vertical line on start up. It did the first time but now is back?Q3; One other thing is that the first time i recorded the tape was silent on playback. When i turned the OP-1 off and restarted there was sound? Is this a glitch in the firmware? Thanks
Q1 welcome to OP1’s world of broken promises. I have the same problems as you. Unless you do really dark stuff, maybe adding some noisy bits and signals on the other tracks will fix your loop point jumping. I guess you’ve discovered this by now but excessive bass also contributes to the problem.
When you want to loop recorded audio on your OP-1 you have to record in loops, means start the sound at the beginning of a loop and end at…
Or just think youre listening to a vinyl record ; ) and enjoy the clicks!
Hey @Peeter Do you mean loops on Tape track recordings or loops on the Synth Sampler instrument?
You mentioned snapshots…
I imported some samples into the snapshot folder 6 seconds in length.
With sample loops you need the start & end points to be the same amplitude on the wave form - yes , try shift and Green, but also Shift and White , to fine tune this.
Much experiments needed as its not so easy to see what’s going on.
Maybe start by moving end point (white) right up to start (green) and this zooms in the visual. Now set Start (Green) to zero crossing , so half way up in the centre line- neither plus or negative amp , but zero crossing- centre . Then zoom back out by moving end point to its proper place clockwise and it shall be easiest to find a clickless location . Still use Shift and White with experimentation.
Thanks Spheric. I will give that a go.
I have read on op tricks that a seamless loop can be made recording 2 samples on different tracks. One recorded in reversed then spliced together. How do you record in reverse?
press reverse then record (then key or play to start).
Thanks docshermsticks!
Is it easier to fix the sample Amplitude in and out points in Ableton Live? It would be quicker i think.
Yes try this in Ableton.
Make sure you chop beginning&end on zero crossings.
But it may be nicer to try loop start further into wave form on OP-1 with Shift&Green.
Jus make sure End is zero’d for wave on Ableton.Even micro fade out maybe.
Thanks Spheric. Youve been really helpful!
