Thanks for the nice reply. It was definitely an exercise in being focused not to accidentally record over anything Prerecorded. I used the undo trick a lot where you lift the part you’re overdubbing before overdubbing and dropping it when you made a mistake. Still I think I had to redo the synth in one section entirely and the drums in another because of faulty overdubs. In the end though it felt satisfying that I had 3 fully recorded tracks. (The 4th track was used for the voice and was filled for about 80%
So to answer your question; I kept strict to the rule of recording synth on track 1, bass on 2 and drums on 3. Only overdubs
