Amazing work! thank you! I love it =)
man how the supersaw graphic keeps on rumbling and deforming the chain from a saw into a square really feels like a little chainsaw that got a bit out of hand it is so brutal
and beautiful ![]()
well gosh darn it. but all this progress is still incredibly cool!!
Thereās no original C/C++ codebase to load. A decompiler like Ghidra gives you C-like pseudocode thatās useful for reading, but itās thousands of nameless functions plus hand-optimized DSP code that doesnāt decompile cleanly, so rebuilding a working firmware from it isnāt realistic today. Mods patch the original firmware binary instead.
On bricking: as long as te-boot is left untouched, you can always reflash any firmware, stock included. The one catch is that data saved with a mod might not load on stock firmware.
ah ok i see, that makes total sense. thank you for this info!
Iāve pushed an update with clouds fx (this one is quite CPU heavy and will need some fiddling to optimize the load) and a new quad LFO (can modulate 4 destinations). Obviously there are bugs in visuals but I havenāt experienced any crash so far. If you find any problems, report them via DM or in github, in case of crash a photo of the screen will be also useful
incredible. are all updates pushed to your github?
yes just use the patcher to generate the modified fw
i would like to study this and work/tinker on my own dsp code, but i see that in your GitHub there is a reference to " The patch data is generated from a custom firmware tree built with the synth SDK (make_firmware.py , not part of this repository; needs the Blackfin toolchain):" would you be able to help me get started with this or point me where i can find this SDK? thank you in advance!
CLOUDS as integrated fx on the OP1 is so good ![]()
![]()
the 8 control layout and graphics are top notch, how the grains are scanned and this lil cloud got a bit of heft to it that is so sweet to look at while itās surfing ![]()
glory days
the quad lfo modulating the tape-echo is such a beautiful thing as it is really flexible and the layout, the way one can simply choose which lfo is getting edited by clicking the corresponding encoder ![]()

clouds sounds like a clouds
but integrated within the OG1 haha
so nice
Following your path⦠Nice job @popcorp :))
Great work here! Iām super keen to install but Iāll wait a little bit until itās been tested a bit more.
On Github, you mention the bootloader isnāt touched so if anything goes wrong, you can always do a reset back to factory?
sure reverting back to factory is always possible, the only caveat is that you might need to do factory reset because OG firmware will crash if it encounters unknown instrument/fx ID.
Great work everyone! I was working away on similar too. The clankers are great ![]()
.
Published a new update with an euclidean sequencer w/ 6 slots. It also sends MIDI out so you might be able to sequence external gear with it
Will be happy to hear feedback if anyone is brave enough to try it out!
will go right in ^^
itās really fail-safe because @TabascoEye did the og-repacker with iter & filter (additional engines) and itās based on that, so the python script will merge anything modded into the OG OS and if the OP1 doesnāt like that, itāll simply crash with an error messageā¦
holding com at startup can be used to simply put 246 back at it but I can say this is now really solid (a few known bugs but more of routing/graphic things) and ever since the OP1 can slow down the graphics in fps but never slows down in music, thatās a bit magical ![]()
the Euclid sequencer
absolutely crazy additions itās like everyday is firmware update day and the quality is top notch, so much fun really having the quad lfo modulating everything and things like a dual clouds / dual tape echo is simply goated
thx a lot
btw
euclidian transpose is my favorite

it feels so unreal but the implementation makes it feel like TE has gone completely crazy ![]()
hello there, just made the update and it“s working (until now) flawless! Tape and supersaw is really good!! i don“t get the euclidean sequencer, have to try more to find out how it works..supercool surprising update, thanks a lot!
ok, i understand the euclidean now, i“ve tried it with a monophonig synth, that“s senseless
it“s really cool with drums!
