Custom Firmware on the OP-1

how do i get a note into the dot sequencer? rec and live doesn´t work for me..

press record key, in REC mode you just input with the keyboard, in LIVE mode cursor follows the playhead if the slot is playing

ah! the key “record”..i was trying to activate the REC in the upper right corner with the red rotarty…now it all makes sense!

pls keep em coming :face_with_peeking_eye: the OP1 keeps on growing. thank you so much really :sauropod:

it’s really interesting how it can easily work out on the sequencer-page using the rec button, it’s all so nice and is a lot of fun really but 100% stable and full of TE aesthetics

just checked out the quad lfo..absolutely cool!

  • types: VOIC (per voice), FREE (free-running), GATE (restarts at note-on), MONO (restarts at every note-on, shared), SHOT (one cycle after note-on, then holds), RAND (new random value per note)

  • :alien_monster:

  • reverb: lush plate/hall reverb, a port of the Mutable Instruments Elements reverb (time, mix, diffusion, tone); its own screen (Kali): blue shows 1–6 arms, green lights the mix scale, white brightens the skulls, red fades in the fire

:spaghetti: Emilié in her Elements basically :woman_getting_massage:

After 1 year or not checking in (got side’-tracked playing with Claude Code, haha) I was wondering if ppl pointed the clankers to the OG-1 already… looks like it’s on its way to become the most feature-rich TE device :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Could you guys maybe share an .md with basic directions, to jump on the build bandwagon?

Amazing work @popcorp on the scale mode! This is fun. I have a question about how the scale mode interacts with the sequencers. Brief testing seems to suggest that notes are not constrained / affected by the scale mode when the sequencer is running? E.g. I put on a scale mode, then put in a sequence in endless sequencer, and the sequencer is just playing the notes “normally”, rather than in a scale from the scale mode. Is interaction between the scale mode and the sequencers possible? Thank you!

Scale mode is not my work  but I would like to include something similar in my firmware, stay tuned!

edit: Lol it seems the synths have been integrated with the other firmware that allows tape undos, that’s really cool

what do you mean? is the scale mod enabled and what are the other synths? :face_savoring_food:

Look at this shit: astonishing

I’ve only just started playing with this firmware today (firmware #249) but I had some strange behaviour when using the euclidean mode even though that was imported in. There were notes hanging after stopping it running with the orange knob, then I had a freeze. When I was able to restart it, my OP-1 was acting very erratic. Buttons weren’t working, weird freezes etc. I’ve since gone back to popcorp firmware and can’t seem to replicate it so far.

Is it possible those new implementations freaked out other elements?

it’s bonkers now that you both start merging your stufff

much love

I haven’t tried that one, but it might be CPU overload. Hanging notes is something I’ve noticed on my firmware too, but never a freeze.

hmm, I really like @Rackes graphics on reverb and also the “new” LFO settings screen and such additions the 249 build is missing :face_with_peeking_eye:

I think I’ll stay with yours @popcorp :heart_on_fire:

He’s got some balls to release full firmware on his site, containing te intellectual property…

Best of all worlds would be a full on customizer which contains the old mods from the repacker as well as all the new stuff but with choices on what to put in. But that needs a solid “interface” system so that missing parts don’t randomly crash the firmware.

TE really did a solid on not using secure/signed boot on the OG-1

In #249 the idea of Renaming snapshots inside OG is a really neat way to leave the Computer out of the way - that’s pretty awsome:smiling_face:
