Date and time setting on the Op-z

Hi,
I discovered the Op-z in may and practiced pretty much till now.
It’s really fantastic!
I can manage it not so bad now, but there’s a mystery that stays for me:
How can I set the date and time?
This would be handy to manage project and backup files.

I searched the web and asked some AI.
The answers I had, were that it has no RTC clock nor internal battery to keep the time right and running.

Ok about the battery. And I didn’t see any when I disassembled the Op-z.
But it could still keep the time as long as the main battery is connected.

Has one of you some knowledge on date/time setting?
Thanks in advance

As far as i’m aware - yes, there’s no RTC present within the hardware and also no software part to handle time/date values.

Because of that it seems like it isn’t really possible to set date and/or time as none of those really exist within the OP-Z as a unit.

You can also see that all files and directories created by the unit have “Dec 31 23:00:00 1979”-like timestamps as well as no indication of timestamps in any device logs, which clearly indicates that OP-Z isn’t aware of time or calendar as concepts.

Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks. Yes, it clarifies.
So, I’ll organize my backups by hand. No big deal.
The Op-Z still stays an incredible device :heart_suit:!

Deluge is the same, sadly.

I think 1979 is pretty damn cool, and if you just date your back-up folder on your desktop with today’s date for the whole 32mb (MAX) of data on the instrument, then you don’t need to keep the day and time on each individual file! OP-Z is so good, I have 3 of them…

Because it’s timeless…
