i’m selling my ep-133 after playing with my ep-1320. the 1320 is just so much more fun for me… i guess i also don’t care about sampling at all, the built in sounds on the 1320 are amazing. also as basic as the arp is, that’s also more fun. the graphics are amazing. i mean i liked the ep-133’s design well enough i guess. just hate the workflow as compared to the po-33. but the 1320 is fun enough that i can just live record in patterns or whatever and the ugly color really grows on you. can’t wait to get the carrying case, i see that also has foam inserts to protect the fader and such, which the ep-133 case did not.
the color has certainly grown on me too. interesting to see you are going for the case, i opted out of buying one after i read all of your experiences with TE’s other bags and accessories. i would love to hear what you think about it! it looks great, but im also thinking a decksaver + some other shoulder tablet bag would suffice (if only the decksavers werent like 2/3 the cost of the TE bag)
i was on my way to buy a decksaver because now i actually want to travel and use the 1320 as opposed to the 133, and then i saw very faintly on the photo of the new 1320 bag that it looks like there’s protective foam in it. and if you read the description it seems like that’s exactly what the new bag has! no shipping confirmation yet, but i see the bag appears to be sold out on the TE website here in sweden…
im kinda glad it was sold out, nearly impulse bought it today with some surprise gifted money. ended up going for a field recorder instead, but definitely still interested to hear how you like it
Does anyone have the full list of default samples on the EP-1320 yet?
I love this thing. I had the KOii for like a week and it didn’t jive, but I guess this is just more my aesthetic. Ended up getting the case as well and just as pleased - super protective and looks sweet.
Here’s me playing it. The samples are super great.
+1
ESP on the fw updates ….
Btw cool track ^^ (medieval sun)
Yeah I mean to see people really liking it is a cool surprise. I’m glad , I’m good with the ko2 for quite a while but I am now curious what the EP series will bring.
I really like that people aren’t even trying to compare it to a SP-404 or whatever. It threw all the “seriousness” and hypertechnicality of electronic music out the window, and I deeply appreciate that.
It’s definitely a “like it for what it is” and not “dislike it for what it isn’t”. The EP-1320 has a lane… and I suspect no competition is going to try and get into it
Maybe
Yes, here they are. Not sure how people extracted them (probably just recording the audio out?) and I’m not sure about the legality of it. Probs a copyright violation.
My advice would be to just use that list to preview the sounds and decide if you’d like to purchase an EP-1320. Keep in mind that in the actual instrument some of the sounds are multi-sampled for chromatic playing so they sound way better than just grabbing the WAV files and dropping them somewhere else.
Hope it helps!
I just got one. It’s weirdly liberating to have the keys in latin, to my surprise I’m approaching it far more casually and fluidly than the KO2. Maybe it’s also less intimidating in the sense that it’s totally okay for things to sound organic with sounds like these. It somehow gives you permission to have fun instead of forming the perfect hot track.
