evolution from hip-hop by OP-1

Few years ago my style was mainly sampled hip-hop. Something has changed, I bought OP-1 around 2 years ago and today here we have

Has anybody got similar experience how op-1 affects your style?

Good stuff!
I think the OP-1 leads you towards more originality of what your ‘‘art’’ is. Probably because of the simple intuitive and limited workflow. And it’s also a synth, not only a sampler.

Thank you for checking and feedback. I don’t use it like a sampler - only synth. As a sampler I have Maschine. I don’t know much about synthesis but spinning the knobs untill I can hear something nice

Im the opposite I used to never use samples I made all my sounds with synths in a daw but then I bought the op1 and now im going back and forth between samples and synth and doing different styles all the time

OP-1 mantra
" I don’t know much about synthesis but spinning the knobs untill I can hear something nice  "

The thing I love about hip hop now is that it has blown wide open and doesn’t need to be sample/soul based anymore. The new Vince Staples record is a great example. I’m in a hip hop group here is Australia and all our stuff is synth-based, I think it’s way more refreshing than MPC chops (which I still love, but it just feels a bit dated now).

Loving your stuff @Maciek - could definitely hear a rapper over the top!

It also depends on the music you sample isn’t it ? I read somewhere that drake sampled a dubstep tune in one of his lastest track
