What are people using as external mic? Are there any out there that give a good level without a pre amp or anything?

I’ve got the same inquiriy- Ive tested this old video camera mic I found in my closet http://www.amazon.com/Sony-ECM-MS908C-Microphone-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B000095S9N/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1415515475&sr=8-2&keywords=sony+ecm+ms908c

It’s ok, but you have to boost the gain like mad and even then it sounds pretty Lo-fi.

@beazmusix do you just run the output of your Zoom H1-V2 to the mic in on the op-1?

I think I’m looking for something a little more straight forward. A mic with a built in pre amp or some such.
