This is how my OP-1 appears on my desktop every time I plug it in.
I was too lazy to cut out the corners as well but I think it's fine for the time being. It adds that little bit of extra flair.
You can right click the OP-1 on the desktop and click get info. Then you'll need to drag a .icns file on top of the current icon and it should change.
I used this icon: https://dribbble.com/shots/1797288-OP-1-Synthesizer-Freebie And an online PNG to ICNS converter: https://iconverticons.com/online/ .
Thought I could share this with you guys.
Great idea! The corner thing was driving me nuts, so I fixed it. It’s a PNG, so just open it in Preview, copy and then get info on the OP-1, select the generic icon and hit paste.

Guys, I was so hyped for this, but when I unplug/replug it goes back to boring old icon :’(
Tried with .icns, .png, simple text doc…
Running Mac high sierra, and latest op1 os 225
Was already feeling depressed today, and this has put the icing on the cake.
Haha, such a funny thing to be alive.
Oh well, was worth a shot.
I can’t tell if it’s an issue with High Sierra or the OP-1 but I have the same problem. I can’t get the custom icon to stick.
