Halp! No sound in (33 or 35) with Personal Monitor microphone

I bought Teenage Engineering’s Personal Monitor M1, and I cannot get any line in audio on either my PO33 nor my PO35 using the included microphone. Is this to be expected - the microphone records on my iPod and iPhone just fine? Their website describes using it in this way with the OP-Z.

So is this how it should be for the Operators, or does the sound input substantially different on the OP vs PO?

I have the headphones. They work fine with my POs.

it’s because the M1 has a TRRS connection and I would guess that you’ll need a TRRS Splitter to separate the mic from the headphones.
