Well, that would explain why people that bought from Colette already have theirs, and TE’s store perhaps was not updated properly when they put it online. Maybe all of us that ordered direct from TE will have to wait. Maybe in the meantime I’ll earn some more money and buy that Aira mixer-thingy.
My order number is 1846XX and this is what I got in an email on the 23rd
"Thank you for your email and for your order! As you know we launched our new website yesterday, and while it seems running ok now, there are still a few concerns to take care of, before everything is working 100%. We’ve got PO-units ready and more are on their way so there should be little delays. The cases are not ready for delivery just yet, so if you tried to order it already the site would not let you. Rest assured however your order is safe with us and we will get back to everyone as soon as possible with confirmations.
Thank you very much for your support and understanding! We are thrilled and so looking forward to hearing you try out our new machines!"
Same shit
In the video cukoo posted in the “something new” thread. Jonatan said that the first shipment went to colette and the second shipment was expected in about a month or so. Don’t know if that means that the orders on the TE web store will start ship in a month.
If this is the case then it was clear false advertising on TE’s part to claim that they have the PO synths in stock.
I bet many people (myself included) impulse bought the synths because the web store claimed they are in stock. What’s more, the webstore also claimed that the synths will be delivered in few days (in the faq about shipping)!
Well, they got my money, hopefully they will eventually give something in return. I will think twice about my next TE purchase.
While I really would like to play with them now, I understand if it takes a week or two before I get the order. If TE ships the orders themselves it would take some time to get them out the door. If this is the case, they should partner up with a logistics partner =)
Colette? It looks like a trap to me. Like some vision of the future where amazing retro clothes from thrift stores are priced to predict 2035 inflationary projections.
I ordered a PO-12 from Colette, it came in today. Shipping was super expensive but was sent with DHL Express so it arrived pretty quickly. I also ordered the other two from the TE website later (totally impulsive buy, couldn’t resist) but then the standard emails starting coming in over the last few days. Looks like it will take a longgg time before TE will start shipping them. Apart from that I spoke to someone over at TE asking me to tell everyone to stop sending emails
I think they should release a clear statement on what exactly is going on, with some dates.
I have only had an order confirmation email, nothing else. But then I haven’t asked about my order. If they’ve been mass-mailing orders to tell them there’s a backorder/shipment delay, I haven’t been on that list!
the thing overall i find irritating is more the sheer radio silence. im sorry, but TE took in between 1 and 3+ million dollars off of selling these in a 48 hour period if the invoice numbers are anything to go off and one general email saying “were a bit overwhelmed at the moment, we will be right back” is kind of unacceptable. also if their NAMM boxes potentially disingenuously illustrated, it seemed like they were stocked up, knew what they had on their hands, and were ready to ship to literal thousands. some serious bad p.r. shite happening right now in my eyes. the funny thing is all of it could be cleared up so quickly. “listen, if you ordered a PO with an order # 180XXX to 200XXX they should be shipped out by in the next week or so. if you don’t fall in that, 3 months. thanks.” no news is bad news on the internet, and you would think that this group would be shrewder than this.
^lolwuht i dont think this slight delay will even remotely effect sales. Im so used to TE and their slow turn around time. Im more worried about potetial bugs in the PO’s.

who said it would affect sales? we obviously all bought in, but i for one wouldnt have if i knew it would be 3 months, i would had waited and if they wait too much longer will have to void my order due to moving in a bit. i have never ordered anything directly from them and probably wont ever again. public relations isnt just the act of selling lots of units once, its making sure those buyers will continue to and actually trust you.
IF (and i am hoping that is not the case) thy really end up shipping these things in 2-3 months, or even a month, then there is absolutely no excuse.
That would simply mean that they kept making sales for product they knew they didn’t have!
When you do that, you call it a pre-order, and need to be clear with your customers that they will effectively be taking your money for months and giving you nothing in exchange.
That is not acceptable.
And whining about new website design is as lame as can be: exactly why did you decide to launch half baked web site in the middle of new product unveiling?
And no, There is nothing brilliant about it… IF this ridiculous delay is in fact going to happen.
Because: once again, I so wish that this is all just some massive miscommunication, and that my order is being shipped as we speak.
As it should be.

100%
I’m located on the other side of world, Australia, but still managed to order when the site was suggesting ‘In Stock’.
^ 219XXX and still in stock?! That could mean almost 40K orders, based on the lowest reported so far (182XXX), assuming the numbers are sequential of course…
I’m sure those of us who ordered when things were in stock will get a notification of when they ship, rather than having to peer at the letterbox. Which is good, because my letterbox is a 5 minute walk from the house.
Fairly sure they are at least somewhat sequential @punji as the case I ordered in November of 2013 was on an order 140xxx.
November 2013 to January 2015 - orders 140,000 to 180,000. 40,000 orders, many of which were probably for things like the plastic accessories, bags, things like that.
2.5 million dollars or more!
Hands up anyone who remembers Sinclair Computers back in the '80s
hopefully they use some that dough to hire some staff for shippin’ duties!
