Does this really surprise anybody? This is TEENAGE Engineering we’re talking about. They are more of an art house than an actual business. My order is 1853XX and, like everybody else, all the PO’s were ‘In Stock’ when I placed my ordered. I didn’t believe that they were actually ready to ship out, though, because, well…it’s TE. I fully expected to wait a couple months to receive them.
I’m not trying to defend them. Just the opposite. They are a group of creatives that desperately need some true business leadership. They remind me of a child that leaves the dinner table before eating their peas to go play with their toys. They need someone that will make them eat their peas first.
How can they ship by UPS from Sweden for only 3 bucks? Even if it is shipping from within the US, isn’t that too low?
Maybe they’re shipping me NAMM stock? 
@punji yes that is incredibly cheap. but the PO’s are really small. And I think TE has a HUB in Atlanta. o mybe that accounts for cheap east coast shipping. but maybe they just made a deal with UPS as they are gonna be moving a ton of PO’s
edit- amazon seems to be able to ship tons of stuff for basically free. I get huge items from amazon all the time. and they use ups

The probably manage fine day to day but being 8 fellas in total they must have been overwhelmed by the avalanche of orders. They probably prepare each order manually.
@knobhead. i think they have to manually load the firmware on each unit aswell!
Are you guys who got the shipping confirmation all in the US?
If so then it sounds like you’ll definitely be getting the NAMM stock.
Hope us Europeans aren’t the ones that are going to have to do all the waiting

I think the whole thing really feels like a fucking swindle.
Honestly: the reality of the financial world is that in a matter of seconds, one can multiply all this money through investments etc. That is OUR money that they now have without giving us anything back.
As if we all decided to just LOAN TE hundreds of thousands of dollars, at no interest… for them to invest in whatever they please.
The way I see it is that:
A/ they really have no clue how to run a business, and made a series of mistakes creating this situation, or
B/ they played us all for suckers thinking that we will just take it in, and patiently wait until they manufacture the goods and then deliver.
I think the scenario B is what we are dealing with.
And I am upset at the blatant lack of transparency with which they conducted this whole affair.
The lack of transparency turns this into a con. We were literally sold something that did not exist…
Politicians do this all the time, and I hate the fuckers with passion. I just did not expect to be shafted by a cool design company from Sweden that I really liked, in the same manner I was shafted by Bush and Cheney.
@piotr I understand your frustration but I feel you are being too hard on them. There’s the possibility they simply underestimated demand, combined with half the team being at namm and maybe new stock still being delivered at hq could make a bottleneck on the whole situation. You can cancel your order at any moment if you think they have been dishonest.
