Help with getting sounds out of Pocket Operator SF?

Hi all

Just got a Pocket operator street fighter which im very excited about, but im not sure if it arrived broken? There appear to be no sounds after button 5. I tried following the advice of the manual to hit the write button once if there is no sound but all that did was open step mode, would really appreciate some help, thanks!

and it looks like I accidentally somehow overwrote soundbank 1, is there a way to factory reset maybe?

factory reset
hold pattern + write while inserting batteries to restore the unit to factory default.
