How to record the OP-Z audio in Stereo to Macbook/Ableton Live

Hi All,
I’m a total newbie when it comes to Teenage Engineering products and last week I received my OP-Z. I directly fell in love with it, only one thing that I can’t seem to wrap my head around is how to record the OP-Z in high-quality stereo audio into my computer for ableton live recording.

I have a Scarlett 2i2 External Audio interface but when I send the audio from my OP-Z into the 2 inputs from my 2i2 the sound is in mono.

The method that I’m using now is sending the audio into my Zoom H1n and then the zoom via usb as an audio interface to the MacBook but this is far from ideal since it keeps giving crackles in audio after playing something.

I’ve noticed almost everybody do high-quality recordings with this incredible device so I’d love to be able to share what I’m making with you guys aswell.

Thank you so much in advance!

The 2i2 should be ideal for that. I’ve used it before with the OP-Z. It sounds like you just need to make sure you’re panning both inputs or use a stereo track in Ableton Live.
I’m using Logic so I can’t really help you there. For Logic, you either press the single circle button to make it a double circle button (=turn a mono track into a stereo track). At the same time, the input changes from “Input 1” to “Input 1+2”. Or you add 2 mono tracks, pan them hard left+right and change the inputs to Input 1/Input 2 manually.
There should be something very similar in Ableton Live.

Thank you so much Gero, it was indeed a simple ableton setting. Let’s Produce!

i use this cable:

record 2 tracks at the same time.
then on ableton, pan each channel
