If I change a existing preset then save, it always create new preset with date in the name.
How can I just override existing preset ?
Is this a function is missing ?
You can’t do it, it always saves a new copy (snapshot in TE speak).
Yes that’s the problem, it’s create a copy everytime, If I created a own present then change it and save. I must delete my old preset then rename the new with the old name. Takes a lot of time.
I wish there was a save and save as. It’s a common approach for good reason.
Version update 1.0.32
Yes! That was fast.
Hopefully they’ll add that feature to saving presets (snapshots) as well now.
Anyway be careful with renaming/moving presets having samples. You can rename only on the device and you can move only through MTP. However if you move a preset having samples all projects that referred to it will be broken as the affected patterns will have no samples for that instrument. If you rename a preset all the other projects referring to the same instrument will loose the related samples.
That makes pretty difficult to organize your presets. Just one example: you’re working on a project and save some sampler presets. The you rename them for later use. Then through MTP you organize you presets moving them from snapshot into dedicated folders. When you reload your project those intruments will be missing.
This, along with sample management, is definitely one of the more frustrating aspects of the XY. It’s hard to build up a library of presets or samples without worrying about breaking any off your past or previous projects.
For this reason I’m just using the XY as a sequencer until TE attends to all the sample management stuff. I’m going to be patient and give them time to fix things before I try to load all my samples. I really hope they’re working on it.
