How to sequence the OP-Z with VSTs?

I would like to use the Melody Sauce 2 VST to essentially play my OP-Z. It is a plugin that uses AI to generate random melodies.

I am using Ableton Live and have the OP-Z plugged in via USB. I have a midi channel with MIDI input from Melody Sauce and MIDI out to the OP-Z. I have tried each MIDI channel for the OP-Z but it doesn’t seem to be receiving any MIDI.

Is what I am trying to do possible with MIDI over USB? What could I be doing wrong?

Try connecting the computer and op-z directly without using a usb hub. also check the midi settings in ableton.
