Is my OP-XY bugged, or certain Punch-in FXs are totally useless?

Hey folks, i don’t know if the Punch-in FX of the ramp up (the one under the number 4, on the first C note) is working badly for me or they have designed it like that.

When i press it a very loud rhythm comes up alternating kick and snare, and it’s totally disrupting in any song i do… i am starting to wonder if my OP-XY is bugged, because the Punch-in FX sounds always the same (of course with the relative kick and snare sound i have loaded), and there is no way to have it in another way.

Also, when i trigger the punch-in FXs they are always too loud and there is no way even in the mixer to lower down their volume. can someone help with this please ?

As far as i know, it’s not possible to exclude tracks to be impacted by the Punch-in fx track, but it would be awesome if it could be done.

The latest 1.0.50 update fixed a bunch of punch in effect bugs, I’d make sure you’re updated first.

yeah, i have the 1.0.50 installed.

Just to be clear, the symbols on the keys do not relate to the punch in effects, they indicate the step components. For example, the C key will not give you a ramp up punch in effect (this is the ramp up step component). I’ve just checked and the punch in effect for this key sounds as you’ve described (it sounds like some kind of drum fill). I’m not sure the different effects types are documented (yet) for the op-xy, but they were for the op-z, and I imagine they are very similar.

For info, the first octave of keys apply effects to ‘drum’ tracks and the second octave to ‘synth’ tracks. If you want to apply punch in effects to individual tracks you can do this by pressing shift and the different keys whilst on the different audio tracks (not on the punch in effects track)

Correct @mesoboy , the symbols are for the step components, not for punch-in fx.
And yes, it’s a sort of fill. but it feels kinda useless to me, as it’s not very useful in many context, and the volume goes crazy up when triggered.
