@Telengard - It is ridiculous that in 2016 this basic task is not more common, I gave up asking Elektron to implement it when I was beta testing the Octatrack, such a basic feature but so handy. The Electrix repeater can do threshold triggered recording, but it won’t stop after specified measures, however you simply press stop at the next downbeat after the desired length and it automtically sets it correctly, for a looping hardware device it remains unsurpassed IMHO.
I think the Yamaha RS7000 can do it too, but the smart media cards, slow audio processing, and physical size are why I no longer use mine, still it is a very good machine, puts the Octatrack to shame in some areas.
