Just released a new soundpack for the OP-XY. I want to eventually port this over to the OP-1f but unfortunately it needs to go in for a repair..
Koto Skies is made for the Teenage Engineering OP-XY, blending Asian-inspired instruments, textures, and percussion into a unique sound collection that bridges tradition and modern ambient design.
What’s Inside:
95 multisamples
5 custom drum kits with exotic percussion
A diverse palette of instruments & textures, including:
• Ajaeng
• Bamboo flutes
• Bangu
• Bell
• Bowed vibes

Bring a world of delicate timbres, resonant textures, and ethereal rhythms to your OP-XY with Koto Skies. Whether you’re building dreamy atmospheres, deep grooves, or genre-bending textures, this pack gives you a versatile palette to explore.
I have been unable to see the video preview or navigate to it (on my iPhone). It might be user error, but I thought I would mention it in case it is not just me.
I make records that then get posted on social media. This is the first release ( yesterday) using the OPXY. It is a brilliant sketchpad, excellent SNR and very well behaved in the studio in terms of sync. start/stop. https://www.instagram.com/p/DOgAekxiB2U/
Last night I sat in my garden with it using the Koto pack and came up with something cool but I do tend to mix it up using different instruments from a lot of John Gorton’s packs as the quality is very good indeed.
I just ordered the Beetlecrab Tempera too to record samples from OPXY as well as granular processing some of the output, I think they will make a great team.
Hi, just to confirm: I just need to copy Koto Skies OP-XY folder into OPXY preset folder? For some reason it doesn’t work for me..
Edit : got it sorted, had to rename the folder to Koto instead of Koto Skies OP-XY.
Try changing the main folder name to something shorter. Sometimes the OP-XY doesn’t like longer names. Try naming it to Koto..This should do the trick.
