I bought nothing sound-related for the last 2 years. I have too many devices and updates for Microfreak and OP-1 Field are enough for me in terms of novelty. Need to put more time into using what I already have. I haven’t done much music stuff in the last year either. Hopefully this will change.

Wasn’t really XMAS related, but finally took the plunge on a MPC Live III last week.

I sold a bunch of old gear that wasn’t getting much use, which paid for a TP-7 and CM-15 and the White Mystery Box.

Merry Christmas everyone. For Christmas I booked a month vacation over on this island in Cambodia, called Koh Rong. I live in Vietnam so it’s only a couple short flights away.

Since people are listing non-music self-gifts, I will list some as well.
I bought a Hobonichi planner for 2026. It’s a fad and they are somewhat overpriced, but the design is good and the quality of manufacture is superb. I hope to use it for keeping track of stuff without spending more time in front of a screen. (I used to write a lot of things on paper and I want to get back to that good habit.)
I also bought a Kakimori dip pen with a metal “bullet“ nib for ink drawings. It seems much easier to use than a brush.
