i made a micro beat tape out of the last months worth of work / shows.

1 month = 5 mins.

got 5 minutes? :))

Some good stuff!

great stuff man I dig it

Lovely that.
Vocals /beats. What do they say nowwa days,er, sick.
Inspiring stuff.

Great stuff!!! Absolutely love the vocals, can’t wait to hear more.

Keep it up

cheers dudes. thanks for listening.

going to be working on some more stuff very soon - will keep you posted.

btw: these are all snippets of loops made live - at shows or at home

Great stuff !
What’s your workflow ? Any tips with recording/mixing vocals ?

older example of workflow… i’m a bit behind w making vids, but should be on that real soon.

no tips other than use yr ears… not much more to be done w the OP-1. just listen and be selective w timing, execution etc etc … this workflow relies on live execution which is where the OP-1 excels imo.

i use a pre-amp for the mic, and just a basic dynamic - SM58. no magic there, but the pre-amp is crucial and makes this possible.

thanks for listening btw!

entertaining, thanks @speckdrum

The mix sounds great man. Please tell me you used a DAW as I cannot get even CLOSE to this quality in the OP only lol!!!

Cool tunes too. I dig the tape actions also

Love your style ! Flume meets boom bap kind of… Keep on the good work

@flybry — negative. all OP-1

cheers for listening y’all. more on the way.

Oh WOW!!! What a great vibe - not exactly 5 minutes and I mean that in the best possible way - I’ll be listening to this again and again!!!

You’ve achieved a wonderful level of production on the OP-1. I can’t believe you hit the low end so neatly with the OP-1!!! You must’ve used samples…?

I started listening to this again so it’s already gone past the 5 minute mark! Congrats!!! Hahaha I love the accuracy of detail on display - from the stereo image to the synth sounds to the drums… it’s all there! You must’ve worked so hard to achieve such a competent level using just the OP-1. Im going to print this to tape and listen to it on cassette  and nerd out properly. Thank you sooooo much, ね!!!

Cheers mate @hismostdarxxxellent

in terms of lo-end — it’s all synths in terms of pitched elements… but there are a couple of 808 kicks layered to give that extra punch. compression is key to get that weight in the lower registers.

for sure print it to tape pal, and welcome. send the cheques to… j/k

btw - really happy y’all have enjoyed this, thanks so much for the positive feedback!

i’ve learnt so much from this community, and heard SO MUCH awesome music come off this forum.

So… thanks :))

love and respect to our little clan.

Tks. Great YouTube channel. Cool jam with the octatrack on one of your videos. Great stuff !
Live use of the op1 isn’t easy.
