Im making the same thing but with BLE MIDI and ESP32.Its easy to power it by PO. How ever I can only up to do 16 physical outputs.

very cool! HanzTech makes a similar device - I have one, works great and is also a usb midi converter
the only downside is that since pocket operators don’t play a full 12 note scale it can be of limited use depending on what you’re trying to do, and also depending on the PO model
