Midi external synth , how disable local synth

hi,

if i want to play an external synth through midi, the internal synth plays along, How can i disable the local synth and hear only the external synth through midi. Where i can record to tape for example.
i looked in the manual, but did not find an solution.

Any Sample patch, page one, shift + turn orange knob all the way down

I just tested the silent as the orange knob trick and they work, thank you :wink:
